The Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) together with the Scalabrinian Agency for Cooperation and Development (ASCS), launch Rebuilding Hope, a Fundraising Campaign in favour of local Churches in Turkey and Syria to support refugees and people affected by the earthquake.
Although the Scalabrinian Missionaries are not present in the region, in 2019, a group of young ASCS volunteers left Gaziantep, to travel the Balkan Route (Umanità Uninterrotta Project), where hundreds of migrants travel with the hope of reaching the borders of 'Europe.
During that trip, ASCS met many refugee families from the affected area, which we also supported during the Covid19 pandemic. Since the tragedy occurred, we have been in contact with those families, as well as with the Bishops of the local Churches.
The needs are numerous because these people no longer have anything. For this reason we have decided to raise and send funds to the local Churches to provide food, assistance, clothes, basic necessities, medicines and perhaps be able to contribute to rebuilding hope.
